Bob Volpe

Bob Volpe is an independent consultant residing in Rochester NY. Mr. Volpe served as a full-time consultant for Ki ThoughtBridge from 1998-1999. Previously, he was employed by Eastman Kodak Company, where he had assignments in employee benefits, human resources, recruitment, and government relations. During his career at Kodak, Mr. Volpe represented the company in a number of complex negotiations in economic development, public policy development, and health care. Most notably, Mr. Volpe led a team that reached an innovative solution to negotiations between Kodak and a local municipality, linking Kodak-spurred economic growth in the town and attendant growth in municipal tax revenues to property tax reductions for existing Kodak facilities.

From 2000-2003, Mr. Volpe served as a resource person for The IMC, an employer's association providing human resource-related services in Rochester NY. Mr. Volpe facilitated the development of the Ten Point Action Plan by the Leadership Group of the Rochester Heath Care Forum. This plan outlined basic goals for improving the quality and access while lowering the cost of the health care system in the Rochester area. Also included in this action plan is a series of initiatives that are being undertaken to drive community-wide change aimed at accomplishing these goals. Several other health care-related projects have been facilitated by Mr. Volpe that are bringing incremental improvements to such areas as pharmaceutical cost reductions, collaborative out patient lab testing and a system for integrated case management care for frail elderly members of the community.

For Ki ThoughtBridge, Mr. Volpe trains and advises executives, managers, and leaders in negotiation, strategic relationship management, and effective systemic change. He has assisted organizations grappling with challenges such as major shifts in strategic direction and desire to improve interdepartmental communication and joint decision-making, in industries ranging from manufacturing to financial services and high technology to not-for-profits. Mr. Volpe has advised such organizations as the National Education Association, Eastman Chemical Company, Acxiom Corporation, Xerox, Luxfer Group, Consolidated Edison, Janssen-Ortho Canada and Eli Lilly and Company.

“After participating in Ki ThoughtBridge workshops for Kodak employees, and successfully applying the techniques and tools in a number of complex negotiations, I recognized the universal applications of Ki ThoughtBridge's work. I believe our techniques and tools are impactful in achieving gains for all parties in most negotiations, and I believe the best way I can help others reach the best possible solutions to challenges they face is as a Ki ThoughtBridge consultant.”

"A very sincere thanks for the important role you played in launching the work of the Design Teams. I must confess that I typically lose interest easily with structured presentations, but I was riveted throughout both days with your sessions and learned plenty. You have put in place a structure and language for a difficult process that will serve us well over the coming months."
