Praise for Ki ThoughtBridge-A Success Story from Joseph O. Murdock

At St. Vincent Health, ministry leadership formation is mission-critical, especially when stressful economic conditions influence our values and the decisions we make that affect the people in our ministry. The concept of
virtuous leadership calls us to embrace the value for who we are as human beings at work (the dignity of the human person) and bring those values to life, integrating our humanity into our roles as leaders as we carry out our daily responsibilities.

In partnership with Katherine Tyler Scott from Ki ThoughtBridge, we co-designed a series of self-awareness leadership workshops under their umbrella of The Inner Work of the Leader©. The goal for these workshops was to create intentional and experiential practice fields for our executive team to explore and examine the many complex dimensions of leading holistically in times of change and turmoil. With a group of 25 senior executives committing to participate in this year-long process, time, humility and personal will was our prescription for progress.

Katherine and her colleagues were not only instrumental in designing and facilitating the right learning events and self-exploration experiences, but they were also skillful in structuring an environment for our leadership team where we could come together in a safe place for dialogue to leverage our learning, embrace our challenges, build and strengthen trust and unpack the things that we have been afraid to discover in who we are as human beings. We believe that when we understand and value our own humanity, we protect the humanity of others we lead.

We continue to use the formation skills, tools and experiences shared through Ki ThoughtBridge to guide our path toward virtuous leadership.

"Leadership development provides the foundation on which to build community. Through the Advanced Leadership Institute, facilitated by KI Thoughtbridge, we have leaders gaining the skills to address the tough questions and issues in the community, while maintaining a level of civility not always present when times get tough.

Creating a leadership circle, with a level of trust to approach solutions and paths forward based on common interests for all, expands the capacity and spirit of community. With Ki Thoughtbridge's assistance we are developing our leaders and identifying the path forward to strengthen the community for the future."
